As the summer ends, it is time to start thinking ahead to the next season and the changes it will bring. Here in Kansas, fall usually means more rain and, of course, cooler temperatures. While you are switching over your closet to warmer clothes, don’t forget to think about your car, too. Here are a few fall service tips to get your vehicle ready for chillier weather.

We've got your fall service tips

  • Check your HVAC. Check your heater to make sure it works before the temperatures get too cold.
  • Clean your battery. If you find any corrosion on your battery terminals, clean it off with a stiff wire brush. You also want to make sure your battery has enough power to survive cold nights.
  • Turn on your lights. As the days get shorter, you will be using your headlights more frequently. Make sure all your exterior lights are working and angled correctly.
  • Get new wiper blades. Windshield wiper blades do not last forever. In fact, you should replace them every 6-12 months, especially if you see any cracks or if they just aren’t clearing away rain like they should.
