Everyone knows that owning a car comes with its own set of responsibilities. Beyond keeping it clean and making sure its tank is full of gas, you must provide the right maintenance. If you’re giving your vehicle regular maintenance, it will last longer and run better. Here are some good guidelines to follow:

An oil change is a routine maintenance for your vehicle

Oil Change

Oil changes are perhaps the maintenance that is needed most frequently. Oil is like your car’s blood, and while it may seem insignificant it’s extremely important to your car’s health. Get an oil change every 5,000 to 7,500 miles. Be sure that when you do so, you also get a new oil filter as well.

Tire Rotation

It’s a good idea to have your tires rotated around every 5,000 to 6,000 miles. To make it easier on yourself, just have this done in conjunction with your oil change. Tire rotation helps ensure even wear and tear on your tires, which increases their lifespan.

Regular Checkups

Oil changes and tire rotations should become as automatic as filling your tank. But your car will need additional filters, fluids and parts replaced down the road. A good rule of thumb is to take your vehicle in for a checkup every 15,000 miles. What you’ll need will vary each time. But as long as you have a mechanic you can trust, you’ll feel good knowing that your vehicle is in good hands and under well-maintained supervision.
