2017 Canyon Updates Lang ChevyGMC’s popular midsize pickup the Canyon is returning for 2017 with a host of revisions and upgrades that’s sure to pique the interest of truck enthusiasts everywhere. With a brand new engine in its range that’s been taken directly from Cadillac, as well as a new Denali model and a brand-new package, the 2017 Canyon updates offer plenty of goodies for pickup fans to anticipate with the truck’s upcoming release.

Found originally in Cadillac’s XT5, ATS, CTS, and CT6, the new 3.6-liter V6 in the 2017 Canyon is mated with a new eight-speed automatic transmission (the same one coming soon on the 2017 Chevy Colorado) for a total output of 308 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. These upgrades should make the Canyon quieter and more fuel efficient without sacrificing power and capability.

In addition to the powertrain upgrades, other 2017 Canyon updates include the inclusion of a Canyon Denali trim level in the truck’s model lineup as well as a new All Terrain X package, which adds off-roading capability to the list of things to GMC Canyon can accomplish. A Teen Driver Monitoring System, three new exterior paint colors, and the latest iteration of the IntelliLink infotainment system have been thrown into the mix, too.
