The Chevrolet Silverado HD lineup offers a full-size pickup that can take care of even the largest jobs. The 2016 model is getting quite the upgrade as the newest Silverado HD adopts the Society of Automotive Engineers trailer ratings. In addition, the Silverado HD will also see an innovative technology upgrade that will make driving a pickup truck smoother than ever.

Silverado HD Updates

The biggest change in technology for the 2016 Silverado HD updates comes in the form of Digital Steering Assist. The system is capable of automatically compensating and counteracting irregularities in the road. It also improves the feel of steering

A new Gooseneck/fifth wheel prep package is available as well. A spray-in bedliner and hitch platform are the major additions in the package.

Chevrolet’s MyLink infotainment system is also getting a few upgrades. For the 2016 model year, MyLink will be completely compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity.

The 2016 Silverado HD’s towing ratings will change to reflect those in the SAE J2807. Some of the Silverado models will offer the same payload and towing ratings as last year. This includes the Silverado 2500HD double cab with four-wheel drive, which is capable of towing 13,000 lbs. Others will change, like the fifth-wheel setup, which will shift to 14,200 lbs towing capacity.
