Each year, WardsAuto selects what it considers the 10 best vehicles in a variety of categories, including interiors and engines. This year, the LT1 6.2-liter V8 Chevrolet Corvette engine was included in the 10 Best Engine List for 2015.

This is the second year this engine has received this award, which is given to the engines having the best combination of power, fuel efficiency, new technology, and refinement. In this year’s competition, WardsAuto compared 37 engines from 12 manufacturers.

“This recognition is another step in earning customers for life,” said Dan Nicholson, vice president, GM Global Powertrain, in a statement. “Having the WardsAuto experts choose the LT1 as one of the best in the industry two years in a row is proof of what this Powertrain team can deliver – uncompromised performance, durability and efficiency that helps make the Stingray one of the best sports cars in the world today.”

The LT1 is part of Chevrolet’s family of small block engines, including the 4.3-liter V6, 5.3-liter, and 6.2-liter V8 truck engines found in the Silverado, Suburban, and Tahoe. These engines offer advanced technology, such as direct injection, Active Fuel Management, and continuously variable valve timing.
